Mini Crisis Day

As some of you have seen on Facebook, our washer decided to leak today. I’m not talking a little spurt of water, I’m really talking about gushing water coming out the bottom, flooding the floor and causing a bit of an issue. In our one-bedroom apartment, our utility room is very limited in space and trying to move the washer and dryer to get to the water was a little bit stressful.

I am currently typing this blog post at my mom’s house. They allowed us to use their washer and dryer. (Today was “wash the bedding” day and that stuff holds a lot of water, so, I had to haul soaking wet [we did wring them out as best as we could] bedding to my mom’s house to finish the washing process.) Thankfully, I’m on the last load and should be out of here by 10:00pm.

But, the important thing is that I got my workout in. It’s really inconvenient to have to wash your clothes at someone else’s house especially when you have a bunch of other stuff to do that day. Like the trooper that I am, I hauled my weights to my mom’s house and opted to do Shoulders and Arms in my old bedroom, which has been cut off from cool air for several months because they are trying to keep only the most used rooms cool. (Completely understandable.) So, as I hauled my weights upstairs, the sweat was already forming. Once I got in the room, I turned the room ac unit on, turned the ceiling fan on, and hooked up a fan as well. It was still half sweltering, but I’m not one to be a sissy. I worked through it.

Thankfully, it wasn’t a high impact workout today. I didn’t have to run or jump really and that helps a lot when the floor creaks with every step. (It’s an old house.) I did sweat though, because of the heat of the room. (I’m thinking the room was probably about 77-80 degrees). I still have Ab Ripper X to complete tonight (after we get all the clothes hung and the bed made).

Even though I could have had an excuse not to work out, I told myself that just because the washer broke (temporarily, hopefully) that’s no excuse to neglect my body.

Signing Out,
It’s Possible!!
