I suppose I should make a few resolutions for 2013. Ok, maybe not “resolutions,” per se, especially since they are habitually forgotten and lost by the end of January. How about “goals?” Yeah, I like that word a lot better.
I’ve given some thought to what goals I want to reach within this next year. It’s an ongoing list especially since I’ve got 365 days to work with. However, most of these goals refer to my overall fitness.
My main goal is to get to my desired weight. I want to be in single digit pant sizes, probably small-sized clothing, abs or at least the formation of abs (I’m not sure what 130 will do to my body). I’ve got a few ideas as to how I am going to obtain my goal. (A little more about that later.)
Another goal of mine is to be a better blogger. I started out strong and then it dwindled quite dramatically. My last post was on November 11, 2012. (eek!) I hope that as I reach my goals, I’ll be able to share them with you and hopefully encourage you as well.
But onto how I plan on achieving these goals. My husband recently saw an ad in some local magazine about a weight loss challenge. It’s an 8-week “course” that teaches you about fitness, food, and other things to be successful in any weight loss endeavor. PJ and I both needed it so we decided to sign up. All you pay is $10 the first week and that goes into a “pot” to be won at the end of the 8 weeks (along with a gift basket). Whoever loses the greatest percentage of weight wins the money (and gift basket.) I’m excited for a few reasons. 1.) Because I think PJ and I have a good shot at winning this thing. And, with the help of Mr. Tony Horton and Shaun T, it’s definitely possible. 2.) It’s an opportunity to meet new people and hopefully make friends! (PJ and I don’t get out much and therefore, don’t really have any friends. I blame this partially on the fact that our work schedules are wonky, but also on the fact that we never really put ourselves out there. This will be an opportunity to talk to people who will be facing the same kinds of challenges that we are facing.) 3.) We get to learn about stuff! I’m a big fan of education and learning more about foods and exercising that can help us is a giant PLUS!!
One other good thing about this group is that it is on a Thursday. (This is usually the day that I start to slack in the week. I usually do well Monday through Wednesday and then the weekend gets me.) This will help me stay focused!
When I officially start (PJ and I have to restock our healthy food supply<<it kind of got replaced with crap :( over the holidays.) I will definitely let you know along with current weight, etc. I’m excited about 2013 because it WILL BE the year of my 130, or 20130, as I like to call it!!
Until next time, be blessed, encouraged and if you slipped up (like I did) over the holidays, it’s ok! It happens and it doesn’t mean you fail! Just get back into the groove of things and rock it out!
